Friday Favorites: All About The (Simple) Details

beautiful diagonal planked shiplap ceiling design via Remodelaholic

Happy (almost) Friday! It’s so fun putting together this post every week — looking around at what we’ve shared on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram, and the things we’ve stumbled across here and there, to pick out our favorites for you! This week, all our picks are all about the details, and they get it just right! Share your projects here or here (or message us on Facebook) and we’ll see you next week!

Favorite ceiling (above): This ceiling detail from the homeshow is just a simple twist on a more traditional planked (or shiplap, thank you Fixer Upper!) ceiling, but turning the planks to run diagonally is so beautiful!

Favorite trundle bed: Becky over at Infarrantly Creative redid her son’s room with so many great features, including this beautiful bed — it’s a full bed with a twin trundle, so there’s room for storage under the other side!

Favorite use of stain: From the party, make your own mixed wood wall for $40 with Uncookie Cutter (plus check out her color guide for mixing stains to get a variety of colors!)

Favorite new parenting trick: I love the idea of doing service days to help kids understand and express gratitude! Saw it on Kids Activities Blog and we are going to try it!

Favorite spring cleaning hack: Rather than spending a week or more sweating over deep cleaning every nook and cranny, simplify deep cleaning to 30 minutes per week! Get the printable checklist over at The Country Chic Cottage.

Favorite white kitchen: The details in this kitchen are simple but add so much to the finished beauty of this space (from the home show). The window treatment, the small open shelves, the smaller top cabinets… it all works together so nicely!

Favorite chic nursery: So many fun projects in Mandi’s little boy’s nursery over at Vintage Revivals! I love the house crib surround (totally movable to be a playhouse when he’s old enough to monkey around!) but that wall of wood animal silhouettes is my favorite part.

Favorite nursery upcycle: Speaking of nurseries… save that old entertainment center to turn into the ultimate changing table with tons of storage! Found this over on Facebook (if  you know the original creator, please let us know!)

Favorite bathroom storage: Sometimes it’s the simplest things in life that make all the difference… like having an easily accessible spare roll of toilet paper! Love this recessed toilet paper holder and storage over at Turtles and Tails.

Favorite how-did-I-never-know-that trick: I never knew that ketchup had superpowers like this! Clean copper quickly and easily — see it all at Fresh Idea Studio.

And then, some favorite Easter projects: Easter egg succulent planter by Happiness is Homemade! Just pick up one of these (affiliate link) and start painting and planting!
