Creative Furniture Makeovers
It can’t be a furniture roundup with a couple of IKEA hacks, right? Dandelion Patina made over the inexpensive dresser with paint stir sticks and some trim — great two-tone look!
Rast hack #2: Addison Meadows Lane used the small 3-drawer unit as a base for a new craft room desk, which looks fabulous!
Paint really does work wonders! Delightfully Noted gave this little dresser a chalk paint makeover.
A broken mirror doesn’t *always* mean bad luck — sometimes it means getting creative with a furniture makeover like The Aspiring Home did here!
Furniture makeovers aren’t just for indoor use — see how Seeking Lavender Lane updated her patio set, rustic style.
I love seeing old pieces given new love and style — Redo It Yourself Inspirations updated this old drop leaf table and the result is lovely!
From our Facebook fans:
It’s not often you get to see an upcycled piano! Toni and her husband turned a hand-me-down piano into a great desk!
From Toni: “Piano into a desk. The piano was given to us for free. My husband removed the keys and metal. The metal is the heaviest and hardest piece to remove. I then kilzed it and painted it. We used all the original wood except the two stained boards.”
And, I saved my favorite for last… Lori and her daughter took a set of old barstools and turned the seats into outdoor porch swings, and the bases into side tables! Don’t you love it?
From Lori: “They started out as bar stools that swiveled. We had seen swings made before on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. The most important thing is that they are super sturdy and from there let your imagination take over! We are making the bases from the stools into end tables by adding 3 inch thick old tongue and groove flooring as the table tops…. still working on those but they will be just as amazing as the swings! As far as the top of the chairs we ripped off the ugly green material and painted the chairs with chalk paint and Annie Sloan wax of course! Reupholstered the seats with outdoor material and then water proofed the material for outdoor use. We had to enlist the engineer/husband in where to drill the holes for the rope’s stability and functionality They would be fun hanging from a big tree or on a porch. Could also be hung in a family room!”
